Date: Thursday, 07 December 2023
Location: UN Offices of the Bahá’í International Community, New York
Time: 09.30 AM – 11.00 AM

This side event to the 22nd Assembly of States Parties to the ICC (ASP22) aims at fostering a discussion around children’s participation in accountability proceedings from a gender-sensitive, trauma-informed and survivor-centred approach, focusing on the often-overlooked experiences of LGBTQI+ children and youth. This will be a practice-oriented conversation around the challenges and needs that children have when accessing accountability avenues for core international crimes at the national and international level, while highlighting with a differential gender approach, the needs of LGBTQI+ child survivors and victims.
